Private Paternity Test with or without the Mother

Private Paternity Testing with the mother is also known as a TRIO test. This is the standard test that will be ordered for a non-court admissible test or when all parties cooperate to verify paternity for private use only. The Trio paternity test requires a DNA sample from the child, the mother and the alleged father(s).

A final results report will show "child", "mother" and "alleged father", the tested DNA systems, the probability of paternity (POP) expressed in percent and the combined paternity index (CPI) expressed as a ratio to one and it will NOT contain a notarized signature from the AABB accredited laboratory. 

Private Paternity Testing without the mother is also known as a motherless test or mother not tested (MNT). This is the standard test that will be ordered for a non-court admissible test, when the mother is unavailable or the mother will not participate in sample collection. The MNT paternity test requires a DNA sample from the child and the alleged father(s). Whenever possible, we recommend submitting the mother's sample, too. The combined paternity index will be lower in tests conducted without the mother's sample and it may take longer to complete testing.
