Sibling / Family Studies

DNA testing is used to determine sibling relationships such as full brother/sister or half brother/sister. Whenever possible, we recommend obtaining DNA samples from the common parent and the alleged siblings. Determining the identity of your relatives can be very important for child support, immigration, adoption, family medical history, social security benefits, inheritance and other reasons.

Y-Chromosome Study

A DNA identification test that is used to determine if males are related on the same side of the paternal family tree. If males are related the Y-chromosome is passed from father to son then repeats for each generation.

Grandfather's Y-chromosome --> Father --> Son --> Grandson --> Great Grandson

Question: Is Grandfather's brother son related to your son, father and/or grandfather?

Grandparent Studies

DNA testing that is often used for special paternity testing when the alleged father is unavailable (deceased, deployed or detained). This Paternity Testing with the mother is also known as a QUAD legal test. The Quad paternity test requires a DNA sample from the child, the mother, the alleged grandmother and alleged grandfather. The child's DNA is compared to the mother's DNA to isolate the required paternal DNA profile. Next the required paternity profile is compared to the alleged grandfather and alleged grandmother.

The fundamental assumption is that the alleged father is the biological child of the alleged grandmother and alleged grandfather.

DNA Banking / DNA Profiling

Determine your own DNA profile and have it stored for comparing family relationships for inheritance, maternity, paternity and other reasons. It could be a good idea to have your own legal DNA profile for defensive comparison in criminal court issues.

Twin Testing

Determine if twins are Identical or Fraternal using DNA testing. When you cannot rely on looks, the best and most accurate means to determine the type of twins. Identical twins are born from the same fertilized egg (same mother and father) that split. While fraternal twins have the same mother, it is possible to have different fathers.

Sperm Detection

Involves two steps 1. Detection, is there is a sperm sample on a garment or piece of cloth? 2. Identify whose sperm sample ?

Infidelity Studies

Detect if the person in your life is cheating on you. (Regardless of whether they are cheating on you with a man or a woman)
